Dentro de los procesos de justicia transicional, las comisiones de la verdad han sido los mecanismos más utilizados. La búsqueda de la justicia y la verdad que estas procuran es un reto difícil de alcanzar. Además, son organismos propios de los estados, que sirven para investigarse a sí mismos, lo cual complica su tarea y credibilidad. Sin embargo, existe la influencia exógena de normas internacionales de derechos humanos que aportan en gran medida a su implementación. El presente artículo examina las formas en las que estas normas influyen en las comisiones de la verdad, analizando los casos de Perú y Ecuador. En los aspectos semejantes de las comisiones de la verdad, basadas en ideas y principios de derechos humanos, se pueden rastrear patrones replicables y buenas prácticas para otras investigaciones del mismo tipo.
Within the processes of transitional justice, truth commissions have been the most widely used mechanisms. Their search for justice and truth is a difficult challenge to achieve. They are proper state agencies that serve to investigate themselves, which complicates their task and credibility. However, there is the exogenous influence of international human rights that contribute greatly to its implementation. This article examines the ways in which these standards influence on truth commissions, analyzing the cases of Peru and Ecuador. In such aspects of truth commissions, based on ideas and principles of human rights, replicable patterns and best practices for similar investigations can be traced.
