Este artículo analiza, desde una perspectiva feminista, las transformaciones del Estado punitivo en el Ecuador a lo largo de la década de la Revolución Ciudadana, y sus impactos sobre la población penalizada. La metodología combina la revisión bibliográfica, el análisis de publicaciones y documentos oficiales, datos estadísticos e investigación-acción participativa de largo aliento. Las autoras analizan los dos subperiodos en que suele dividirse el gobierno de la Revolución Ciudadana: garantista (2007-2010) y punitivista (2010-2017).
This article analyzes, from a feminist perspective, the transformations of the punitive state in Ecuador throughout the decade of the “Revolución Ciudadana”, and its impacts on the penalized population. The methodology combines literature review with the analysis of publications and official documents, statistical data and long-term participatory action research. The authors study the two sub-periods into which the government of the “Revolución Ciudadana” is usually divided: guarantee state (2007-2010) and punitive state (2010-2017).
