Las Fuerzas Unidas por Nuestros Desaparecidos(as) en Nuevo León (FUNDENL) son un grupo de madres y es- posas de personas desaparecidas que desde 2012 se organizan de forma autónoma para encontrar a sus familiares, continuando el legado de otras mujeres que históricamente se movilizaron contra la desaparición, como las Madres de la Plaza de Mayo durante la dictadura en Argentina o las madres del Comité Eureka durante la llamada “guerra sucia” en México. ¿Por qué son las mujeres quienes, en la mayoría de los casos, deciden buscar a sus seres queridos? El objetivo de la presente reflexión es analizar las representaciones de la dimensión de género en la identidad colectiva y activismo de las integrantes del grupo de mujeres buscadoras a partir de sus procesos de resistencia y empoderamiento desde una mirada feminista.
The United Forces for Our Disappeared in Nuevo Leon (FUNDENL) is a group of mothers and wives of people who disappeared. FUNDENL organizes autonomously to find their family members. This group is maintaining the legacy of women who have historically mobilized against disappearances, such as the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo during the dictatorship in Argentina or the mothers of the Eureka Committee during the “dirty war” in Mexico. Why are women the ones who, in most cases, decide to search for their loved ones? The goal of this text is to analyze the gender dimension in the representations of collective identity and activism of the members of FUNDENL by observing their processes of resistance and empowerment through a feminist lens.
