Cuando en el siglo XVIII el botánico y zoólogo sueco Carlos Linneo realizó su taxonomía jerárquica de los seres vivos, declaró que los únicos seres que quedarían fuera de su clasificación serían el monstruo y el fósil. El monstruo por poseer alguna anormalidad impropia del orden natural de su especie, y el fósil por tratarse de un vestigio y pertenecer a otra época geológica. «El monstruo y el fósil» se concibe como un proyecto artístico multimedia, de carácter instalativo, donde convergen técnicas tradicionales con tecnologías contemporáneas. Un encuentro entre lo orgánico y lo electrónico, entre lo natural y lo artificial, entre el residuo y lo inclasificable, entre lo nuevo y lo que queda.
