Tomando como base los aportes de la geopolítica crítica, el estudio analiza el discurso del gobierno brasileño al respecto de la creación de la UNASUR. Con la identificación de las representaciones y prácticas espaciales se busca exponer la artificialidad de un discurso que pretende llegar a ser dominante en la región suramericana, estableciendo un conjunto de prácticas hegemónicas que buscan imponerse sobre otras a favor del proyecto de nación de Brasil.
Based on the contributions of critical geopolitics, the study analyzes the brazilian government’s discourse with regard to the creation of UNASUR. With the identification of spatial representations and practices it looks to expose the artificiality of a discourse that pretends to be dominant in the south-american region, establishing a set of hegemonic practices that seek to impose on others favoring the national project of Brazil.
