El artículo analiza la situación de Argentina en relación con el problema de la violencia armada y la campaña de desarme nacional realizada al respecto. En primer lugar aborda la compleja cuestión de la medición de la violencia armada, en particular tomando como referencia las estadísticas oficiales y los instrumentos de medición existentes en la Argentina. En segundo lugar describe las experiencias del Programa de Entrega Voluntaria de Armas de Fuego, su marco regulatorio y la sistematización de los principales datos obtenidos. Finalmente, repasa la situación regional en la materia, en particular en el Mercosur.
The article analyzes the situation of Argentina in relation to the problem of armed violence and the national disarmament campaign carried out in this regard. In first addresses the complex issue of measuring armed violence, in particular with reference to official statistics and existing measurement instruments in Argentina. Second describes the argentinian experience in disarmament and the most important results. Finally reviews the regional situation in the field, particularly in the MERCOSUR.
