Las mujeres indígenas como sujeto de política gubernamental son un fenómeno reciente a nivel latinoamericano y más ligado a las reformas neoliberales de la década de 1990, aunque existen antecedentes previos que se remontan a la década de 1950. En este artículo de investigación brindamos un breve panorama sobre algunas políticas públicas destinadas a mujeres indígenas en países latinoamericanos y en la Argentina enmarcadas en una periodización y diferenciación de los enfoques de las políticas indigenistas. Para ello, nos basamos en el análisis de información extraída de bibliografía especializada, de notas publicadas en medios y en observaciones realizadas en el marco de nuestras investigaciones.
Indigenous women as a subject of government policy is a recent phenomenon at the Latin American level and more linked to the neoliberal reforms of the 1990s, although there are previous antecedents that date back to the 1950s. In this article we provide a brief overview of some public policies aimed at indigenous women in Latin American countries and in Argentina framed in a periodization and differentiation of the approaches of in digenist policies. For this, we base ourselves on the analysis of information extracted from specialized bibliography, from notes published in the media and on observations made in the framework of our investigations.
