Los linchamientos fueron considerados en un inicio como algo aislado, marginal, atípico y hasta “folklórico” dentro del derecho popular urbano. Años después, difícilmente se les puede considerar de esa manera, ya que estás prácticas han adquirido, por el contrario, una magnitud inusitada que expresa un giro radical en las características de la legalidad popular urbana y una percepción del dominio de la violencia frente a los componentes retóricos y burocráticos en la producción y reproducción del orden social.
