Se hace una comparación entre Brasil y Chile sobre las leyes, políticas públicas y actores universitarios en relación con propiedad industrial.
El estudio comparado de las leyes de propiedad industrial de ambos países se hace a partir de las nuevas exigencias que implican la integración a acuerdos internacionales y sus efectos sobre las políticas públicas del sector y sobre las universidades como generadores de conocimiento.
Se concluye que las diferencias entre ambos países respecto a propiedad industrial derivan de las diversas formas en que asumen compromisos internacionales, de la relevancia política atribuida a la propiedad industrial y de su conexión con políticas y procesos de desarrollo productivo.
The purpose of this research is to compare the cases of Chile and Brazil in regards to industrial property, which includes the analysis of the laws, public policies and university actors involved in this issue. A comparative study of industrial property laws in both countries was carried out, taking as a starting point the new demands that include not only the integration to international agreements and their effects on the public policies of the sector, but also on the universities as places where knowledge is generated. The study concludes that the differences regarding industrial property between the two countries, derive from the different ways in which they assume international commitments, of the political relevance attributed to industrial property and of their linking with productive development policies and processes in each country.
