Históricamente, la ciudad de Guayaquil se ha caracterizado por ser el centro portuario y comercial más importante de Ecuador, abriendo las puertas a influencias extranjeras que se reflejaron en su arquitectura y el diseño de sus ciudades. El objetivo del presente artículo es analizar la influencia del proceso de suburbanización en el desarrollo urbano de Guayaquil, específicamente en el desarrollo de las urbanizaciones privadas en la zona norte de la ciudad, entre 1948 y 1957.
Historically, Guayaquil has been characterized as the most important port and commercial center of Ecuador, opening the doors to foreign influences that were reflected in its architecture and the design of its cities. This article’s purpose is to analyze the influence of the suburbanization process on the growth of the city of Guayaquil, specifically on the development of private communities in the northern area of the city between 1948 and 1957.
