Se aspira sintetizar una mirada crítica sobre la política y la democracia que sea pertinente para una necesaria renovación del pensamiento sociológico político de la región. La política es definida como una construcción compartida que presupone conflicto, deliberación y democracia y que no se limita a lo estatal, pero tiene dos vetas de salida opuestas: el pacto y la violencia. Con una perspectiva comparativa latinoamericana, se busca reconstituir la necesidad de la idea de una continuidad histórica y el reconocimiento de la heterogeneidad socio-cultural como base para una nueva politicidad. El ensayo incluye un diálogo con varios autores clásicos que definen lo político de Nicolás Maquiavelo a Antonio Gramsci, o de Alan Touraine a Pierre Bourdieu y muy especialmente un diálogo con Norbert Lechner.
Politics is defined as a shared construction that presuppose conflict, deliberation and democracy and it’s not limited to the State power, however it has two opposite options: reach an agreement or violence. With a latin-american comparative perspective, the current situation need build the idea of “historical continuity” and the acknowledgment of a socio-cultural heterogeneity as a base to a new political option. The essays are also part of a dialogue between authors that defines politics, from Nicolas Maquiavelo to Antonio Gramsci, or from Alan Touraine to Pierre Bourdieu, and particularly a discussion with Norbert Lechner.
