Este artigo trata dos novos campos e modalidades de pesquisa em psicologia, como consequência do aperfeiçoamento da tecnologia digital e dos meios de comunicação por ela proporcionados. Ele delimita e define as particularidades, os campos de investigação e as aplicações de uma nova disciplina, a ciberpsicologia, sem pretender, no entanto, ser exaustivo. Após definições e precisões semânticas, o artigo se interessa pelos seguintes campos de pesquisa: o fenômeno dos jogos digitais e sua utilidade como mediador terapêutico; os aspectos sociais do ciberespaço, evidenciando o funcionamento grupal e identitário dos MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game), abordando a questão das redes sociais, e estudando possibilidades de aplicações do conceito de identidade digital. São evidenciadas tanto a capacidade vinculativa das mesmas redes, quanto sua potencialidade patógena. Finalmente, abordamos certos aspectos da cibercriminologia, nos quais damos um particular relevo à questão da ciberpedofilia e ao uso das NTICs pelos terroristas do Estado Islâmico.
This article is about the new fields and research methods in psychology, as a result of improvement of digital technology and the media by it provided. It defines and sets the particularities, research fields and the applications of a new discipline, the cyberpsicology, without intending, however, be exhaustive. After giving definitions and semantic clarifications, the article treats of the following research fields: the phenomenon of digital games and their usefulness as a therapeutic mediation; the social aspects of cyberspace, focusing on the group identity and operation of the MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game), addressing the issue of social networks, and studying possibilities of applications of the concept of digital identity. The binding capacity of these networks, as its pathogenic potential are both evidenced. Finally, it treats certain aspects of cybercriminology, in which we give particular importance to the issues of cyberpedophilia and to the use of NICTs by the terrorists of the Islamic State.
