La inserción de mujeres en misiones de paz de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) es un hito histórico que transformó un espacio considerado comúnmente para hombres. La presencia femenina en este campo se sostuvo mediante la creación de tratados, convenciones y debates, como la Convención sobre la eliminación de todas las formas de discriminación contra la mujer (CEDAW), la Plataforma de Beijing, entre otros. Sin embargo, se operativiza con la creación de la Resolución 1325 del Consejo de Seguridad (UNSC por sus siglas en inglés) en 2000.
