En el cantón Shushufindi, el cacao (Theobroma cacao) se ha constituido en parte importante de la economía y el cultivo más representativo dentro de los sistemas productivos de las familias. Dada la dependencia económica creada, esta condición le confiere un mayor riesgo ante perturbaciones ambientales. El objetivo del presente estudio es evaluar la resiliencia climática de los sistemas de producción de cacao mediante la metodología de evaluación de resiliencia y variabilidad climática en agroecosistemas. Se analizaron 10 sis- temas de producción, cinco monocultivos (MN) y cinco agroforestales (AF).In Shushufindi canton, cocoa (Theobroma cacao) has become an important part of the economy, and the most representative crop within the productive systems of families.
