El presente trabajo se propone analizar la cuestión de la ciudadanía en torno a la diversidad sexual y de género en Argentina. Para ello, examina las leyes de “Matrimonio Igualitario” e “Identidad de Género” en tanto ampliatorias en el reconocimiento y ejercicio de derechos, de sujetos cuya ciudadanía estaba restringida por la limitación real del derecho a participar en el espacio público desde y con la propia identidad sexual y de género.
En las últimas décadas, las múltiples y diversas luchas de los feminismos, que cuestionan la desigualdad, institucionalizada y naturalizada en las relaciones de género, propiciaron la emergencia de nuevas cuestiones y sujetos. Entre estas nuevas voces se encuentran las vinculadas a la disidencia sexual y de género, que se suman a los escenarios de disputas por la igualdad de derechos y consiguen importantes avances. En la Argentina reciente, estos se plasman en la sanción de dos normas fuertemente reclamadas por el colectivo de la diversidad sexual: la Ley de Matrimonio Igualitario (2010) y la Ley de Identidad de Género (2012).
