Description:
La planificación urbana racional, con sus postulados de distribución funcional, serialización residencial y nuevas formas urbanas, ha generado dispersión urbana, espacios monofuncionales, construcción masiva de viviendas y la consecuente segregación socio-espacial. Frente a esta problemática, se erige la propuesta del Derecho a la Ciudad que pregona el acceso equitativo a los beneficios de la ciudad y sus espacios públicos, considerados éstos como nueva forma de integración social de la modernidad. Sin embargo, la modernización capitalista de las ciudades en la época neoliberal sigue coadyuvando a la privatización de lo público urbano y a la reproducción del capital.
