La tesis de este trabajo plantea que, el marco legal e institucional sobre los derechos sexuales y reproductivos de las mujeres y personas gestantes, que realizan tratamientos de salud mental, está mediado por el soporte material propuesto por cada institución y sus equipos tratantes. Esto surge de las siguientes premisas: 1. Los hospitales monovalentes, como organismos mediadores entre el Estado y lxs
sujetxs, gestionan los derechos reproductivos y sexuales como mecanismos de exclusión o de inclusión. Esto supone que el espacio de soberanía de los efectores que componen el sistema de salud resulta tal que, los derechos de sus usuarixs se encuentran constantemente en estado de revisión. 2. Lxs profesionales de la salud reproducen en sus prácticas sus propias representaciones sociales sobre cómo conciben un abordaje en salud mental con perspectiva de género. 3. El sistema de salud en Argentina se estructuró sobre un esquema fragmentado, configurado por la convergencia de tres niveles gubernamentales (provincial, municipal y nacional), facilitando una gran disparidad en cuanto a los recursos y a los criterios establecidos a la hora de garantizar el derecho a una provisión pública en salud mental. es importante señalar que, a partir del esquema inicial planteado, las técnicas metodológicas, el trabajo de campo y los tiempos cronológicos debieron ser revisados y modificados durante la realización de la investigación de la tesis, en función del contexto sanitario mundial por la pandemia producto del Virus SARS - CoV-2 (COVID-19). Es por este motivo que la visita presencial a los hospitales monovalentes, como trabajo de campo, se vio impedida y será suplida con bibliografía y entrevistas en profundidad a profesionales de las instituciones elegidas.
