Esta tesis se enmarca en la relación de las áreas verdes con la salud mental considerando a las áreas verdes desde su función restauradora, en el contexto de la pandemia de COVID-19. En esta investigación se analizó a las áreas verdes a través de dos teorías importantes planteadas por la psicología ambiental, la reducción del estrés y la restauración de la atención. El área de estudio corresponde a las parroquias urbanas del Distrito Metropolitano de Quito, y se aplicó el formulario DASS 21 a través de una encuesta online, para obtener datos de la salud mental. Se calcularon regresiones ordinales con variables dependientes de depresión, ansiedad y estrés (subescalas de salud mental), tanto antes como durante la pandemia. Las variables independientes consideradas fueron variables sociodemográficas y de áreas verdes.
