Desde temprana edad Amada manifestó ser una niña, encontrar apoyo para afrontar la situación en medio del desconocimiento fue una labor difícil para ella y su familia. Sin embargo, el apoyo llegó y Amada se convirtió en la primera niña trans del Ecuador en obtener su documento de identidad conforme a su identidad de género vivida. Este hecho sin precedentes es el que dio origen a esta investigación que busca analizar como NN irrumpen en el espacio público y politizan sus identidades para demandar el reconocimiento de derechos que se les niegan u obstaculizan por romper las normas en torno a la sexualidad, el orden cisheteronormativo y el sistema adulto-céntrico. Así, el análisis se centra en ¿Cómo se politizan las identidades trans de niñas y niños (NN) en Ecuador? ¿De qué manera los procesos de reivindicación del derecho a la identidad de género de la población sexo-género diversa en Ecuador derivo en la inclusión de las necesidades de niñas y niños entre sus demandas? ¿Cómo actúan las articulaciones entre ciudadanía, sexualidad, niñez y Estado en el caso particular de la niñez trans en Ecuador? ¿Cómo operan los procesos institucionales en torno al reconocimiento de la identidad de género en la niñez trans?
