O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar os pontos comuns nos processos de
violência política de gênero vividos por parlamentares e militantes de movimentos sociais, no
contexto do Rio Grande do Sul, de 2018 a 2022. Para tanto, foram realizadas entrevistas
semi-estruturadas e análise dos discursos de três deputadas estaduais em exercício e três
militantes de movimentos sociais com tarefas de direção, que expressam suas experiências e
percepções sobre o tema no desempenho de suas funções. Ademais, visa a contribuir para o
enfrentamento da expressão do machismo que tolhe a participação política das mulheres, por
meio do seu estudo e denúncia; a, identificar e registrar os principais debates teóricos e
normativos em torno do fenômeno da violência política de gênero contra as mulheres no
Brasil; e evidenciar e caracterizar as diversas formas de manifestação da violência política de
gênero contra mulheres parlamentares e ativistas no Brasil, em geral, e no Rio Grande do Sul
em particular. Por fim, discutir, analítica e criticamente - à luz dos estudos feministas e
estruturalismo construtivista de Pierre Bourdieu - os impactos da violência política contra as
mulheres para o exercício de sua cidadania e para o desenvolvimento democrático.
