Históricamente asociadas al género masculino, a la sociabilidad y la celebración, las prácticas de alcoholización también fueron construidas por los discursos coloniales, higienistas y biomédicos como prácticas patológicas vinculadas a la violencia, estigmatizando en particular a sectores empobrecidos y racializados. En mi trabajo de investigación, me baso en los estudios de las masculinidades y del alcohol para plantear que las prácticas colectivas de alcoholización masculinas de varones precarizados se pueden comprender más allá de la moralización y la patologización, desde los sentidos de los sujetos que actúan estas prácticas y desde tres ejes relacionales: en su relación con las estructuras de dominación económica y colonial, en su significación en los espacios de sociabilidad masculina, y en su relación con las violencias de género en la pareja y la familia.
