Esta investigación busca indagar sobre cuáles son las dimensiones a través de las cuales se configura el trabajo que realizan niños, niñas y particularmente adolescentes de nacionalidad venezolana en el cantón Tulcán, frontera norte del Ecuador que colinda con Colombia. Para ello, intentamos comprender el proceso particular de migración en el que se insertan y una de las principales estrategias que desarrollan para sobrevivir en un contexto de precariedad: su trabajo. Mismo que se ve condicionado por la demanda de mano de obra, por los discursos y acciones de los actores estatales y no gubernamentales, así como por las particularidades económicas y geográficas del cantón Tulcán. En este territorio fronterizo elementos como la irregularidad migratoria y la minoría de edad constituyen elementos de coacción y explotación.
