Description:
La relación entre la vulnerabilidad social y la vulnerabilidad de cambio climático puede considerarse, de una marcada causalidad, en concordancia con los discursos actuales establecidos; pero no como la única opción. Con este antecedente, se formula una pregunta de investigación, acentuada por un criterio transversal de capacidades y recursividad social; interrogando: si las condiciones de vulnerabilidad social y de calidad de vida, configuran la espacialidad del cambio climático a nivel del periurbano. En lo metodológico, el análisis es de corte cuantitativo, socioespacial y observacional, con la justificación del estudio de caso para la Ciudad de Quito y sus áreas de crecimiento. La temporalidad es del año 2010, debido a la disponibilidad de información del censo nacional, que es utilizado para aproximar el cálculo de las dimensiones; que recurren al Enfoque Aveo (activos, vulnerabilidad y estructura de oportunidades), y al Enfoque de Calidad de Vida. Para instrumentar la hipótesis, y con el contexto de los enfoques citados, se evalúan espacialmente, la vulnerabilidad y el riesgo de cambio climático; y se comparan los diferentes escenarios para explorar contrastes, que presentan señales en los ejes suroriental y suroccidental del periurbano de Quito.
