Description:
La búsqueda de autonomía territorial de la comunidad afroecuatoriana de Uimbí, con sus diversas estrategias de re-significaciones y resistencias frente a los embates del neo colonialismo racial que se encarnan en el norte de la provincia ecuatoriana de Esmeraldas, en frontera con Colombia, es el eje de la investigación de la presente tesis. Las reflexiones parten desde la antropología política para dar una mirada a la marginación que el estado ejecuta en contra de poblaciones y territorios racializados, en donde se somete a las poblaciones a racismo y sufrimiento ambiental. Se busca comprender el contexto partiendo de la economía política, al considerar que la comunidad ha sido incorporada mediante prácticas de subalterización al mercado transnacional del oro y de la producción de palma de aceite.
