Los Acuerdos Marco Globales para el sector comercio en América Latina, comenzaron en el año 2000 como un nuevo capítulo de negociación colectiva trasnacional, pero no
fue hasta años recientes que tomaron una impronta distinta, cambiando realidades en
diversos países de la región. El presente trabajo trata de explicar, bajo la luz de las
teorías nacidas en Europa, cómo el contexto económico, político y social fue esencial
para dar vida a dichos acuerdos y de cómo éstos fueron capaces de modificar realidades concretas de la vida cotidiana de miles de trabajadores a fin de conocer sus alcances, tan cuestionados, y sus limitaciones reales.
