Bien valdría decir que mi interés entorno a l@s adolescentes se inspiró en un guión del cineasta norteamericano Harmony Korine. El guión de la película fue “KIDS” y si bien el interés de esta investigación no reside en el cine, la semiótica, y mucho menos en la creación de Korine, pude entrever en aquella cinta la punta de un iceberg que posteriormente se abriría ante mis ojos y que, aún hoy, falta mucho por explorar. Me refiero por un lado a la adolescencia y sus ejercicios del poder a través de “modos de representación”, relacionado este último a conceptos de agenciamiento, sus diferencias, relaciones y por qué no decirlo, crisis. Durante la presente investigación dichas prácticas van a estar ligadas con el “arte” entendiendo por ello a procesos de representación, a ejercicios de poder. De esta manera, trato de rescatar al arte como metodología de creación en el ejercicio de poder del adolescente a través de su representación. El arte como proceso de agenciamiento representacional que busca el empoderamiento de los sujetos a través de su propia expresión. Siendo así, se busca definir lo que se concibe como Sujeto. La existencia en el Ecuador de un Código de la Niñez y la Adolescencia vigente, ha significado un logro a nivel jurídico, pero también ha supuesto el rompimiento epistemológico entorno a cómo acercarnos al adolescente. De ser objeto, el adolescente pasó a ser sujeto de derechos. Por tanto el concepto en ello ha cambiado. De esa manera, fenómenos como los de la explotación laboral y sexual, por ejemplo, podrían ser revisitados y debatidos en relación a l@s adolescentes.
