La política exterior de Cuba, posterior al final de la guerra fría, ha atravesado grandes desafíos y cambios, básicamente definidos por el bloqueo financiero, económico y comercial que mantiene Estados Unidos contra ese país por más de cincuenta años. De igual modo, el constante cambio en el sistema internacional y las crisis acontecidas han obligado a la isla a actualizarse y redefinir sus políticas de Gobierno. En este contexto, la política exterior cubana ha sido activa y muy extensa, orientada a romper con el aislamiento impuesto por Estados Unidos y a su vez, a sumar alianzas que le permitieran, a lo largo de las dos últimas décadas, mantener su sistema político.
