A partir de analizar el impacto del TLC y de una abierta política a favor de las grandes empresas transnacionales sobre el campo mexicano, este ensayo muestra que este sexenio, justo por agudizar la dependencia alimentaria de México respecto de EU y desestructurar dramáticamente las unidades campesinas, pasará a la historia como el que mayor migración de la fuerza de trabajo rural generó.
