Esta tesis analiza los efectos de la Globalización en la integración andina a partir de la Teoría Crítica del Regionalismo y de la Economía Política Internacional Crítica, fundada por Robert Cox. El objetivo central de este trabajo de investigación es establecer una relación causal entre la Globalización y la actual crisis de la Comunidad Andina. El objeto de análisis será la armonización de políticas comerciales y el Arancel Externo Común como uno de los principales instrumentos implementados para lograr esa armonización en la Comunidad Andina. El período de análisis es 2002-2007, tiempo que coincide con el momento en que los países de la CAN decidieron dar un último impulso a la aplicación del arancel, en 2002, y la decisión de dejar sin efecto todas las obligaciones relacionadas con una armonización arancelaria, tomada en 2007.
