Partiendo del reconocimiento de una dinámica de condicionamiento recíproco entre la conflictividad social y los procesos de conformación estatal, en este artículo aborda ciertos elementos configurativos de la relación entre el Estado y el sindicalismo del sector petrolero público en Ecuador. Durante el gobierno de la Revolución Ciudadana, se advierte una profundización del desmantelamiento del sindicalismo petrolero como sujeto político. Este debilitamiento operó vía diversos mecanismos vinculados con la reconfiguración de la institucionalidad del sistema laboral y la gestión de la fuerza de trabajo, mediante transformaciones en la acción del gobierno en el sector petrolero y, a través de la conformación de organizaciones sindicales afines.
