Resumen / Abstract :	El tema de esta tesis se enmarca en la Educación Media del territorio rural de un departamento del litoral Norte de Uruguay tomando en cuenta su población, las ofertas educativas para la continuidad de la Educación Media Básica las trayectorias de estudiantes así como lo que representa la ruralidad para el acceso, permanencia y egreso en este tramo educativo. Se buscó analizar los motivos que llevan a la interrupción de las trayectorias educativas entre los años 2009 2019 . La investigación se basó en la recolección y análisis de datos cuantitativo s para luego dar paso a la metodología cualitativa , donde se procedió al análisis documental y realización de entrevistas a distintos actores involucrados en la Educación Media Rural. El análisis demostró que las nuevas formas de relacionamiento campo ciudad en lo social, económico cultural y político no son generalizables y no se reflejan de igual manera en el acceso y permanencia de los estudiantes ya que temas como el trabajo, las distancia s geográficas , factor es climáticos, frecuencia en los medios de transporte público, situación económica , aspectos culturales, entre otros, representan un obstáculo más allá de lo educativo. El territorio rural se mostró como una más de las condicionantes para el ejercicio del derecho a la educación lo que surge de lo s entrevistados a nivel docente, familiar, estudiantado, así como en los datos estadísticos que marcaron el comienzo de esta investigación. S e constata además la presencia de políticas educativas no conocidas por su s destinatarios, con escasa focalización, sin considerar al territorio rural con su heterogeneidad. The topic of this thesis is framed mainly in Secondary Education in the rural territory of a North littoral department in Uruguay taking into consideration its population, the educative offers for the continuance of Basic Secondary Education, the trajectory of its students, as well as what rurality represents for access, permanence and graduation in this educative section. The motives that led to the interruption of educational trajectories between 2009-2019 were analyzed. The research was based on the recollection and analysis of quantitative data that then gave way to qualitative methodology, in which a documental analysis and interviews with different actors involved with Rural Secondary Education were carried out. The analysis showed that the new forms of relations between the countryside and the city in the social, the economic, the cultural and the politic field are not generalizable and are not reflected in the same manner in the acces and permanence of the students because of topics like work, geographical distances, climate factors, public transport frequency, economic situation, cultural aspects, among others, represent an obstacle beyond the educational. The rural territory showed itself another condition to exercise the education right, something that arises from those interviewed in teacher positions, family members, the student body, as well as from the statistical data that marked the beginning of this research. It is also notorious that the presence of educational politics not known by their recipients, poor targeting, without considering the rural territory within its heterogeneity.
