En las escuelas de artes y oficios, los talleres fueron la columna vertebral de la educación que en estos planteles se impartía. En el cruce de los siglos XIX y XX la preparación de artesanos en oficios varios, acorde con los requerimientos de la época, evolucionó hacia la formación de obreros especializados y jefes de taller, y en el contexto de la Revolución Mexicana, y por decisión del constitucionalismo, mediante una reforma curricular, a formadora de ingenieros en las ramas de la mecánica y la electricidad.
In the schools of arts and trades, the workshops were the backbone of the education provided in these schools. At the junction of the 19th and 20th centuries, preparation for craftsmen in various trades, in accordance with the requirements of the time, evolved towards the formation of specialized workers and heads of workshop, and in the context of the Mexican Revolution, by decision of constitutionalism, through curricular reform, towards formation of engineers in the branchs of mechanics and electricity.
