En las últimas décadas se ha demostrado la eficacia del entrenamiento en mindfulness en el tratamiento del Trastorno por Déficit de Atención e Hiperactividad en adolescentes, como alternativa terapéutica a la medicación, puesto que esta última cuenta con una serie de efectos adversos y su virtud a largo plazo aún es cuestionable. Empero, aún faltan estudios que indaguen sobre dicha eficacia en adolescentes en
contextos de vulnerabilidad social. Por lo que el objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar la eficacia de un entrenamiento en mindfulness en este nicho poblacional. El diseño es de carácter preexperimental con una muestra de 39 participantes. Se encontraron mejoras significativas en el rendimiento atencional y mnésico, así como reducciones significativas en las subescalas de ansiedad social y ansiedad total,
hiperactividad e impulsividad. No se encontraron diferencias significativas en los niveles de depresión y conciencia plena, ni en las subescalas de ansiedad definición, ansiedad fisiológica e inquietud. Los resultados del presente estudio sugieren una correlación positiva entre el entrenamiento en mindfulness en el tratamiento del TDAH en adolescentes que viven en contextos de vulnerabilidad, pero es necesario realizar más estudios que permitan aseverar los datos y fortalecer la confiabilidad de los resultados
anteriormente descritos.
